Google Play Store could Make App Installation Easy with New Header Update

Google is testing a new Play Store feature that keeps the "Install" button visible while users scroll through app listings.

Google is working on a major update to the Play Store that could make the app installation much easier for users. According to Android Authority, the tech giant is testing a new feature that will keep the “Install” button visible at all times while users scroll through the app listings.

Currently, when you scroll through an app listing on the Play Store, you have to scroll back up to the top to find the “Install” button. This can be frustrating, especially for users who want to review all the details before downloading.

However, Google plans to fix this by permanently fixing the app’s header, including the “Install” button, at the top of the screen as you scroll.

As you can see in the video above, a future update to the Google Play Store will affix the header at the top of the screen while you scroll the app listing.

This header will include important information such as the app’s name, icon, developer, and ratings. Most importantly, the “Install” button will always remain visible, allowing users to install the app without having to scroll all the way back up.

The “Update” button will also remain visible and accessible at all times, irrespective of your scroll position.

The feature has been spotted in version 43.1.19 of the Play Store, though there’s no official release date yet. However, once it’s rolled out, it could make the Play Store experience smoother and more user-friendly.

The update is seen as a way to improve app conversions. App developers are asked to give detailed information about their apps, but this often results in long listings. When the “Install” button disappears as users scroll, they may not download the app, especially if they get tired of scrolling.

By keeping the button visible at the top, Google hopes to make it easier for users to download apps while still giving them all the details they need.

We don’t know when Google will release this update for everyone. We’ll let you know as soon as we get more information.
