WhatsApp Adds Fun Filters and Custom Backgrounds For Video Calls

WhatsApp has added new filters and backgrounds that you can now use during video calls. Here’s everything you need to know about this.

WhatsApp has been busy rolling out exciting new features, like the creation of custom GIFs using meta-AIWhatsApp chat themes, and many more. Now, with the start of October, they’ve added something even more fun—Filters and Backgrounds for video calls, making your video call more engaging.

According to WhatsApp’s official blog post, the new filters and backgrounds are designed to make your video calls more engaging. You can now change your background or apply a filter during a call to add a personal touch.

The filters bring a playful vibe to your calls, while the backgrounds are great for keeping your surroundings private. I mean, It’s perfect if you don’t want people to see your messy room or a distracting background while you chat.

WhatsApp gives you a choice of ten different filters and backgrounds to choose from. You can mix and match them to create your own unique style. The available filters include Warm, Cool, Black & White, Light Leak, Dreamy, Prism Light, Fisheye, Vintage TV, Frosted Glass, and Duo Tone.

When it comes to video backgrounds in WhatsApp, you have several options to choose from, including Blur, Living Room, Office, Cafe, Pebbles, Foodie, Smoosh, Beach, Sunset, Celebration, and Forest.

But that’s not all. WhatsApp also introduced two new modes, Touch-up and Low light. These features help you look better on calls by smoothing out your appearance and improving lighting, especially when you’re in a dark or dimly lit room.

To use these features, just start a video call and tap the magic wand icon at the top right. From there, you can pick whichever filter or background you like. It’s super easy to use and makes your calls much more engaging.

In the coming weeks, this feature will be available to everyone on both Android and iOS devices.

Additionally, according to a report from WABetaInfo, these filters and backgrounds will soon be added to the native WhatsApp Camera, allowing users to use them instantly while taking photos or videos.
