WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to change the theme color of the app on iOS devices. According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp updates, the feature is currently under development and will be available in a future update.
The feature will let users choose from different colors for the app’s background, text, and icons. Users will be able to access theme settings from the app’s menu, where they can also switch between light and dark modes. This feature is expected to give users more customization options and improve their user experience.

WhatsApp to Allow iOS Users to Change App Colors
Currently, WhatsApp only allows users to change the theme color to light and dark modes. But, according to WABetaInfo, they reveal that WhatsApp is working on a new ‘app color’ feature that will give users more control over the app’s appearance which lets them change the app icon, chat bubble color, etc. This feature was first spotted in WhatsApp’s iOS beta version 24.1.10.70.
WhatsApp has not officially announced the feature or its release date, and there is also no news about Android getting this feature. But WABetaInfo claims that it will be available for iOS beta testers soon. WhatsApp often tests new features with a limited number of users before rolling them out to the public.
Earlier, WhatsApp also added two new features: Pin Message and View Once Feature, allowing users to pin important messages on top of the chat and send voice messages that disappear after the recipient listens to them. This shows WhatsApp’s focus on providing a great user experience by regularly adding new features.
